Backless dresses are a must wear for some ladies in certain situations. Trouble is that you must find an appropriate backless bra. Most of these bras are in the least bothersome, expensive and hard to come by. But you can make your own backless bra at home with minimal expenditure.

Though it is difficult to just wear a backless dress or blouse with your normal bra, making a regular bra backless is easier than you can imagine. This post shows you 2 techniques on how you can easily do this.

Why a Homemade Backless Bra?

There are many advantages of making your own backless bra. Some of the benefits are listed below;

• Taping breasts is time-consuming and agonizing

• You can make amendments as you wish and style it your way

Making a DIY Backless Bra Method 1 of 2

This method entails making a bra that is backless, but with straps. The bra offers some support without showing anything at the back. It is therefore ideal for ladies with big or saggy breasts who wish to wear backless and low back dresses.

Things you’ll need

• An old bra, with adjustable straps if possible
• Pair of scissors
• Sewing thread matching the color of the bra
• Needle
• Clothing pins

Procedure

1. Using the pair of scissors cut the straps where they connect with the band (at the back)
2. Remove the entire band up to the point where it is attached to the cups. This will depend on the style of the bra. For a wired bra, cut along the outside of the wire. For a normal boned bra, cut outside the boning. If this does not work out right, you may later remove the boning and try again
3. Fix the loose end of the straps to the inside of the bottom of the cups using the pins
4. Adjust the straps and try on
5. If the positioning of the straps doesn’t look okay, fine-tune and try again
6. Once satisfied with the pose, go ahead and sew

Note: This type of backless bra will not be appropriate for events requiring a lot of movement. If you engage in rigorous activities like dancing, it might snap out of position. But it is perfect for dinners etc.

Making a DIY Backless Bra Method 2 of 2

This method involves removing the bra band and replacing it with a cute array of thin elastic strips. The main challenge here is that elastics are not always available in the color of your choice. However, the elastic pieces do not necessarily need to match your bra or the dress. You can choose a color that will contrast your backless dress.

Things you’ll need

• A front closure or halter bra (a halter neck bra in this case will only be appropriate to wear with a halter top backless dress)
• About 1 ½ meters long by ¼ inch wide elastic
• Sewing thread
• Pins
• Pair of scissors

Procedure

1. Remove the entire straps, if the bra is strappy. For a halter or strapless bra, skip this step
2. On both sides of the band, make a horizontal cut to remove the band. For a boned bra, cut away from the boning to make your Diy bra sturdier. If there is excessive fraying, make a simple hem. You may also ask your local seamstress to overlock the spot
3. Cut about half meter (20 inches) of the elastic and secure it to the side with pins to span the back
4. Try on the bra and adjust accordingly until you settle on the best length of elastic
5. Make 3 pieces of the ideal length elastic
6. Sew the pieces of the elastic onto the side and make them as parallel as possible. You can use a ruler or tape measure and pen to mark the exact sewing spot

Note: As you have seen in the photo, this bra is not precisely backless. However, it is way better than an ordinary bra when it comes to backless fashion. Rather than showing the dreaded bra band, the neatly arranged elastic strips seem to accentuate your dress.

Note 2: For a front-closure adjustable bra, you can use other types of ribbons in place of elastic.

"O people, spread Salaam, feed the hungry, and pray at night when people are sleeping and you will enter Paradise in peace."

Allāhumma Musarrif al-Qulūbi Sarrif Qulūbana 'alā Tā'atika

"O Allah, Turner of the hearts, direct our hearts to Your obedience."

Maxi dresses fall in different categories, with most fitting in more than one class. Though hemlines are diverse, all of them have one thing in common, they are long. The shortest dress that may be defined as a maxi dress is one that hits a few inches above the ankles.

Though Maxi dresses hardly show any part of the legs, they are very fashionable. Many women consider them the most versatile dresses because they can be dressed up or down to fit various events and seasons.

Strapless Maxi Dresses

Tank Styles

A Tank Maxi Dressis designed like a vest or tank top, hence the name. The neckline and armholes can be minimal or plunging. They are ideal for warm weather.

Drop Waist/Low Waist

High Waisted/High Rise

The skirt is typically gathered at the waist and flows all the way to the ankles. The aim of this fashion is to draw attention to the bust and away from the midsection.

Free Flowing/With No Waist/Tent

The main point of styling a Maxi Dress with No Waist is to create a long streamlined effect. The fabric flows from the shoulders in an A-line format without cinching at the waist. Just like a button shirt, a tent maxi dress bridges the gaps between the bust and the tummy. This seams to conceal the protrusions and therefore for a flattering effect. Long Sleeved

Crinkle

Crinkle Maxi Dresseshave very small creases that can not be classified as pleats. Unlike pleats, their purpose is not to hide volume but rather to produce a certain look. Dresses are crinkled on the whole length, the skirt only, or just on the bodice.

Wrap Style

Wrap Maxi Dresses have a front closure with a wide overlap, just like a dressing gown. The fastening is done by one button, and sometimes several. At the head of the Persian army Rustam marched against Qadisiyya and encamped on the east bank of the Ateeq. The Muslim forces lay entrenched at Qadisiyya on the west bank of the Ateeq.

Rustam the Commander-in-Chief of the Persian forces sent a message to the Muslim Commander Saad bin Abi Waqqaas رضي الله ﺗﻌﺎﻟﯽٰ عنه  asking him to send an emissary for talks. Saad deputed Rabi bin Amir as the envoy. 

Rabi crossed the bridge and made for the camp of Rustam. Rabi appeared before Rustam wearing a coat of shining mail over which was wrapped a coarse woollen cloak. Around his head was a veil held by thongs of a camel's girth. His sword hung at his side in a sheath of coarse cloth. In his right hand he carried his spear. Rabi mounted on a shaggy horse arrived at the edge of the carpet at which Rustam and his couriers were seated.

The Persians wanted Rabi to lay aside his arms. Rabi said, "I have not come to you to lay down my weapons. You invited me, and I have come, if you do not wish me to come the way I like, I shall return."

Rustam asked his men to let the Muslim come the way he wished.

When Rustum, the king of persia asked the Muslims, why had they come to Persia? 

Rabiah Ibn 'Amir said “Allah Azza wa jal has sent us to deliver you from worshiping the creation to worshiping the Creator of the creation and to deliver you from the constriction of this world to the vastness of this world and the hereafter and from the oppression of the religions to the justice of Islam. Allah Azza wa jal has sent us to save you from worshiping each other.”

Rabi said that their mission was to spread Islam. He said, "If you accept Islam we are brothers and there is peace between us; if you refuse we fight you and leave things to God."

"What do you expect in return", asked Rustam.

Rabi said, "Victory if we survive, and Paradise if we die fighting in the way of Allah".

Rustam said that he should be allowed some time to think over the matter further.

Rabi said that according to a tradition of the Holy Prophet he could give him a time of three days.

"Are you their chief", asked Rustam.

Rabi said, "No, but the Muslims are like one body, and the lowest is equal to the highest."
