Animals In Love

It’s so cute to see others being in love. But it’s more amazing to see these animals loving each other. They are really sincere in their feelings. Maybe the romance is gone when it comes to people, but the animals really know how to love.

Indian Billionaire Moves Into World’s Most Expensive Home

Mukesh Ambani is considered one of the world’s richest men, with an estimated fortune of £17bn (about US $2 billion). His new 27-story Mumbai residence, which is named Antilla, after a mythical Atlantic Island, has been described as “the Taj Mahal of the 21st Century.”

Ambani and his wife and three children moved into the home last month and he hosted a lavish house-warming last week that was attended by more than 80 people, including: Indian novelist, Shobhaa De, Bollywood stars, Preity Zinta and Aamir Khan, and billionaire Kumar Mangalam Birla.

Said to be India’s richest man, Ambani is chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, one of the largest conglomerates in the world. He is also the owner of the Mumbai Indians, India’s Premiere League team.
The house, which overlooks a sprawling network of Mumbai slums, has sparked considerable controversy among anti-poverty campaigners. They understandably argue that the acute contrast between Ambani’s luxurious mansion and the plight of those 18 million people who live below is devastating.

The mansion has a temple on the ground floor and a library on the top. It has its own cinema, swimming pools and helicopter pad. It was designed according to Vaastu principles, which are similar to the Chinese concept of feng shui
Ambani’s skyscraper, estimated to have cost $US 1 billion, requires 600 staff members to maintain it, and according to local newspapers, the first month’s electricity bill was more than $US 153,000!
In his defense, there are those who argue that Ambani supports the economy and provides many jobs for Mumbai’s very poor population.
Ambani’s brother, Anil, in an effort to not be outdone, held a “parallel party” at the 14-storey residence, which houses the rest of the family.
The brothers are estranged due to a dispute over the division of their late father’s property, who died in 2002 without a will.

Bear is resting on the sand

1 Bear is resting on the sand

Bears are mammals of the family Ursidae. Bears are classified as caniforms, or doglike carnivorans, with the pinnipeds being their closest living relatives. Although there are only eight living species of bear, they are widespread, appearing in a wide variety of habitats throughout the Northern Hemisphere and partially in the Southern Hemisphere.

That which pertains to bears is called ursine. Bears are found in the continents of North America, South America, Europe, and Asia.
Common characteristics of modern bears include a large body with stocky legs, a long snout, shaggy hair, plantigrade paws with five nonretractile claws, and a short tail. While the polar bear is mostly carnivorous and the giant panda feeds almost entirely on bamboo, the remaining six species are omnivorous, with largely varied diets including both plants and animals.

Cool animals - Turtles and Butterflies

Turtle as pets

Turtles, particularly small terrestrial and freshwater turtles, are commonly kept as pets. Among the most popular are Russian Tortoises, Spur-thighed Tortoises, and Red-eared sliders (or terrapin).

In the United States, due to the ease of contracting salmonella through casual contact with turtles, the FDA established a regulation in 1975 to discontinue the sale of turtles under 4 inches. It is illegal in every state in the U.S. for anyone to sell any turtles under 4 inches long. Many stores and flea markets still sell small turtles due to a loophole in the FDA regulation which allows turtles under 4 inches to be sold for “educational” purposes.
Some states have other laws and regulations regarding possession of Red-eared Sliders (abbreviated as “RES”) as pets because they are looked upon as invasive species or pests where they are not native but have been introduced through the pet trade. As of July 1, 2007 it is illegal in Florida to sell any wild type RES. Unusual color varieties such as albino and pastel RES, which are derived from captive breeding, are still allowed for sale.

No, you are completely right: this is black and white pic. Saturation went to 0 and it’s black as night and white as day. Oh, you are wondering what’s that butterfly doing there? Well, it’s not on the pic, it’s on your monitor. Try to scare it away, shout a bit and wave a hand.

Art

Artistic depictions of butterflies have been used in many cultures including Egyptian hieroglyphs 3500 years ago. Today, butterflies are widely used in various objects of art, and have inspired the “butterfly fairy” as an art and fictional character.

Symbolism

According to the “Butterflies” chapter in Kwaidan: Stories and Studies of Strange Things, by Lafcadio Hearn, a butterfly is seen as the personification of a person’s soul; whether they be living, dying, or already dead. One Japanese superstition says that if a butterfly enters your guestroom and perches behind the bamboo screen, the person whom you most love is coming to see you. However, large numbers of butterflies are viewed as bad omens. When Taira no Masakado was secretly preparing for his famous revolt, there appeared in Kyoto so vast a swarm of butterflies that the people were frightened — -thinking the apparition to be a portent of coming evil.

In Chinese culture two butterflies flying together are a symbol of love. Also a famous Chinese folk story called Butterfly Lovers. The Taoist philosopher Zhuangzi once had a dream of being a butterfly flying without care about humanity, however when he woke up and realised it was just a dream, he thought to himself “Was I before a man who dreamt about being a butterfly, or am I now a butterfly who dreams about being a man?”
In some old cultures, butterflies also symbolize rebirth into a new life after being inside a cocoon for a period of time.
Some people say that when a butterfly lands on you it means good luck.
However, in Devonshire, people would traditionally rush around to kill the first butterfly of the year that they see, or else face a year of bad luck.
The idiom “butterflies in the stomach” is used to describe a state of nervousness.

Crazy animals - Opossum and Kittens

animal2 Crazy animals
Pink nose and black eyes: perfect combination to scare you a lot. Eyes convergence somewhere on your forehead, nails ready to scratch this boy’s ears, how can’t you love it....

Opossum as a food

The opossum was once a favorite game animal in the United States, and in particular the southern regions which have a large body of recipes and folklore relating to the opossum. Opossum was once widely consumed in the United States where available as evidenced by recipes available online and in books such as older editions of The Joy of Cooking. In Dominica and Trinidad opossum or “manicou” is popular and can only be hunted during certain times of the year due to over-hunting; the meat is traditionally prepared by smoking then stewing. The meat is light and fine grained, but the musk glands must be removed as part of preparation. The meat can be used in place of rabbit and chicken in recipes. The cousin of the opossum, the possum, found in Australia (and introduced to New Zealand) is consumed in a similar manner.
Historically, hunters in the Caribbean would place a barrel with fresh or rotten fruit to attract opossums who would feed on the fruit or insects. Cubans growing up in the mid-twentieth century tell of brushing the maggots out of the mouths of “manicou” caught in this manner to prepare them for consumption. It is said also that the gaminess of the meat causes gas.
In Mexico, opossums are known as “tlacuache” or “tlaquatzin”. Their tails are eaten as a folk remedy to improve fertility.
Opossum oil (Possum grease) is high in essential fatty acids and has been used as a chest rub and a carrier for arthritis remedies given as topical salves.

Behavior of the opossums

Opossums are usually solitary and nomadic, staying in one area as long as food and water are easily available. Some families will group together in pre-made burrows or even under houses. Though they will temporarily occupy abandoned burrows, they do not dig or put much effort into building their own. As nocturnal animals, they favor dark, secure areas. These areas may be below ground or above.
Didelphis marsupialis: intrusion in human dwelling (French Guiana)
When threatened or harmed, they will “play possum”, mimicking the appearance and smell of a sick or dead animal. The lips are drawn back, teeth are bared, saliva foams around the mouth, and a foul-smelling fluid is secreted from the anal glands. The physiological response is involuntary, rather than a conscious act. Their stiff, curled form can be prodded, turned over, and even carried away. The animal will regain consciousness after a period of minutes or hours and escape.
Adult opossums do not hang from trees by their tails, though babies may dangle temporarily. Their semi-prehensile tails are not strong enough to support a mature adult’s weight. Instead, the opossum uses its tail as a brace and a fifth limb when climbing. The tail is occasionally used as a grip to carry bunches of leaves or bedding materials to the nest. A mother will sometimes carry her young upon her back, where they will cling tightly even when she is climbing or running.
Threatened opossums (especially males) will growl deeply, raising their pitch as the threat becomes more urgent. Males make a clicking “smack” noise out of the side of their mouths as they wander in search of a mate, and females will sometimes repeat the sound in return. When separated or distressed, baby opossums will make a sneezing noise to signal their mother. If threatened, the baby will open its mouth and quietly hiss until the threat is gone.

Kittens

Someone told you to ask ninja about kung fu lessons? He suckered you! All you need are two kittens and a stump. Hit the bushes and watch these moves, Chuck Norris will feel ashamed.
By the way, the left kitten also studies aikido…
Kittens are juvenile domesticated cats (Felis catus) that are not fully-grown.
The young of big cats are called cubs rather than kittens. Either term may be used for the young of smaller wild felids such as ocelots, caracals, and lynx, but “kitten” is usually more common for these species.
Though the term primarily refers to young cats, it can also be used when talking about the young of beavers, hedgehogs, rabbits, rats, skunks and squirrels.
Youngkitten Crazy animals
A litter of kittens usually consists of two to five kittens. They are born after a gestation that lasts between 64-67 days, with an average length of 66 days. Kittens emerge in a sac called the amnion which is bitten off and eaten by the mother cat.
For the first several weeks, kittens are unable to urinate or defecate without being stimulated by their mother. They are also unable to regulate their body temperature for the first three weeks, so kittens born in temperatures less than 27°C (80 °F) can die from exposure if they are not kept warm by their mother.
The mother’s milk is very important for the kittens’ nutrition and proper growth. This milk transfers antibodies to the kittens, which helps protect them against infectious disease. Newborn kittens are also unable to produce concentrated urine, so have a very high requirement for fluids.
Kittens open their eyes about seven to ten days following birth. At first, the retina is poorly-developed and vision is poor. Kittens are not able to see as well as adult cats until about ten weeks after birth.
Kittens develop very quickly from about two weeks of age until their seventh week. Their coordination and strength improve, they play-fight with their litter-mates, and begin to explore the world outside the nest. They learn to wash themselves and others as well as play hunting and stalking games, showing their inborn ability as predators. These innate skills are developed by the kittens’ mother or other adult cats bringing live prey to the nest. Later, the adult cats also demonstrate hunting techniques for the kittens to emulate.

Blue Ringed Octopus

Very toxic sea creature!

10 Strangely Colored Animals

Sylvia Mythen, a 70-year-old grandmother from Venice, Fl, has discovered what appears to be the world's first orange alligator.

She was returning from work when she drove by the gator and promptly had to back up for a double-take. After sending the picture to her local news station she also contacted a biologist who believes the gator is really just half-albino. He says he has never seen or heard of one. But Gary Morse from Florida Fish and Wildlife feels the orange color might be from some environmental element. Regardless, the University of Florida Gators might have a new mascot.

Look at this strange animal! Yes, that is a purple polar bear believe it or not! This usually white polar bear created quite the buzz about the Mendoza City Zoo in Argentina when it unexpectedly turned purple. It seems that the polar bear named Pelusa had a skin condition that the zoo officials were trying to treat, and as a result of the special treatment of this condition the polar bear turned purple. The purple color only lasted for a little while, but it was quite the talk of the town and spread across the world news and internet like wildfire.

The lizard in the photo is not being manipulated (not a photo manipulation). It is now the latest exotic pet craze. Mwanza flat-headed agama's vivid blue-and-red colouring, is a lizard that has a body skin colour similar to Spiderman. Agamas, which are native to Kenya can be good pets, as they become tame and docile if handled regularly.

It can grow up to a foot long, and a balanced diet for them includes locusts, crickets, meal worms and wax worms. They are unable to throw webs, but can change colour – the brightly coloured males will change brown at night or if frightened. They can also run on their hind legs, and can scale vertical walls like spiders.

Take a look at these tattooed pigs. Wim Delvoye has been tattooing them since the 1990s. In the early 21st century a tattooed pigs project was set up in the Art Farm in China, where there are fewer strictures regarding animal welfare than in most parts of the Western world. In 2005, Delvoye's colleague, artist Danny Devos, spent several months at the farm, reorganizing, managing and rebuilding. The tattoos range from traditional flags and lions kind of stuff to Louis Vuitton logo patterns. The skins are not used as formal art objects until the pigs die, at which time, the skins are removed and displayed on walls in various art venues.

The flamingo tongue snail (cyphoma gibbosumn) is a small, colorful sea snail which lives on various species of soft corals in the Caribbean. This creature almost-literally wears its heart (soul and colors) on its sleeve. The pretty color you see in this image is not a snail's shell! Rather, it's in a layer of live mantle tissue, connected to its foot - the snail pushes it out to cover the shell. The mantle tissue also works like a fish's gill. When the snail is attacked, the mantle (and colors) is withdrawn. So you might say, this is the only marine animal that literally turns pale in fright.

Insects typically do not stand out. Something to do with being their one way ticket to certain extinction, generally. A fact that just adds to the mystique of the extremely rare pink katydid. What is perhaps strangest about this species is where they are turning up; the majority of pink katydid images are attributed to the most untropical places such as Osaka and the American Midwest. Speculation is that their unusual color is caused by the genetic condition erythrism, which denotes an unusual red pigmentation.

The Mandarin Duck, or just Mandarin, is a medium-sized perching duck, closely related to the North American Wood Duck. The adult male is a striking and unmistakable bird. It has a red bill, large white crescent above the eye and reddish face and "whiskers". The breast is purple with two vertical white bars, and the flanks ruddy, with two orange "sails" at the back

The veiled chameleon, Chamaeleo calyptratus, a large and colorful species of chameleon, are found in Yemen and Saudi Arabia and also sometimes referred to as the Yemen Chameleon. This chameleon changes color depending on its mood. The prominence of these markings is dependent on several factors including health, mood, and temperature of the lizard.

The Atelopus frog is known by many names such as the clown frog or the Costa Rican Variable Harlequin Toad. Whatever you call the frog, it is a neo-tropical toad that was once quite wide spread living throughout Costa Rica and Panama. The species is listed as critically endangered and is thought to be living primarily in Panama today. Photo: Paul Ouboter / Conservation International.

The Panda Dog was invented by Kensuke Hirakawa after adopting an abandoned Maltese cross Poodle, called Colombo, who was apparently abandoned because of his ugly looks. The unfortunate dog had all its canine teeth removed, a stiff hind leg and tear stained eyes. Having been a beautician and a former pet store owner, Mr Hirakawa decided to beautify his newly found friend. He used puppy safe hair dye to make Colombo look like the cuddly endangered Panda Bear. The result was overwhelming, with a massive and diverse response from the community. Since Colombo was white, the owner simply hair dyed black circles around the eyes, the ears, hind and front legs and strips across the pooch's back. Many scorned the idea as cruel for using chemicals on the animal and for altering its appearance. Others dismissed those perceptions as being over-dramatic. The owner did use a dog-safe non-toxic hair dye. The Panda Dog look turned famous overnight.
