Today's class was really interesting to me especially when learning about the different perspectives that intersex individuals have when it comes to how their lives should be handled. Reading the Intersex treatment protocol guidelines made me realize how complicated the issue really is. It seems like some individuals want to be considered male or female, to fit into the binary, but from what I was reading in Fausto-Sterling some don't. It's such a complicated issue, but in the end, individuals should be able to decide their identity for themselves.
I think it would be hard for someone to live without choosing male and female because of the way society is set up. People would really have to change their thinking.
